KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar met at the CM House on Friday to discuss major issues of Karachi.
They discussed the issue of Pakistan Rangers’ power extension in Sindh. Shah assured Mukhtar that he was in consultation with his party’s leadership and the matter would be solved shortly.
Targeted operations, overall law and order situation and implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) were also discussed in the meeting that lasted over one and half hour in a good atmosphere and was later joined by Minister for Finance Murad Ali Shah, Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and CM’s advisor on law Murtaza Wahab.
The chief minister said that his government was committed to eradicate terrorism related activities such as target killing, extortion and kidnapping for ransom from the province.
“I appreciate the police and the Rangers efforts for restoring peace in the city,” he said. He also thanked the corps commander for taking his personal interest in the implementation of NAP.
